Classic Tales / Nursery Rhyme Time
Classic Tales and Nursery Rhyme Time sessions aim to help keep our traditional stories and nursery rhymes alive.
Classic Tales focuses on fairy stories from The Brothers Grimm and Hans Christian Andersen. Further sessions include Aesop's Fables and Greek Myths.
These 1¼-hour sessions start with a little bit of history, followed by the re-telling of a traditional tale. Children then partake in a simple craft session relating to the story. Time at the end allows for a group activity where the children can 'share and show' their handiwork! Sessions can be run either independently or in blocks of a designated number.
An extended session (1½-hours) is available and includes games and/or improvisation exercises relating to the story.
Nursery Rhyme Time allows pre-schoolers, along with their parents/carers, to enjoy 30 minutes of fun together, singing our traditional rhymes. Plenty of movement, actions and the occasional prop will ensure a lively time!
Classic Tales is extremely popular with Reception and KS1 children. Also suitable and age appropriate for Year 3 children.
